To Make Fish Sauce Recipe Nigeria Version

What are the Ingredients in fish Sauce are below;

  • 1 sizeable Ice Fish
  • 2 handful Fresh Cayenne pepper
  • 1 handful Fresh Scotch bonnet pepper
  • 2 medium Onions
  • 1 small Fresh ginger root
  • 2 small cloves Garlic
  • 2 seasoning cubes
  • 1 handful curry leaves for flavor
  • Salt to taste


  1. Grate Onion, fresh ginger and garlic
  2. Cut, wash and put the ice fish in the pot
  3. Add grated onion,ginger and garlic
  4. Add seasoning cube, salt, little water and stir
  5. Cook the fish until done
  6. Coarsely blend fresh peppers and onion, set aside
  7. Fry the cooked and seasoned fish
  8. Debone the fried fish and cut in small chunks
  9. In a hot oil,add the blended pepper mix and stir
  10. Cover the pepper mix and leave until water is completely absorbed
  11. Add debone fish and give it a good stir
  12. Add seasoning cube, add some fish stock and salt
  13. Cover and leave for 3 to 4 minutes
  14. Wash and add curry leaves, leave for another 2 minutes.

It’s ready! Enjoy with White boiled rice, white boiled yam, boiled ripe or unripe plantains, bread and the likes.

This recipe is worth trying out. It’s healthy, quick and easy to come up with.
