You don’t have to, we learn every day and in the post you’re definitely going to learn a new thing that will be of much value.
Pancakes are popular snacks, usually shallow fried, not like most Nigerian snacks that are deep fried for example the popular puff puff and buns we all know. However, pancakes with Pepper and onions are also popular but shallow- fried.
Because pancakes are shallow fried, you do not need too much oil.
You only need little enough to grease your pan to avoid the pancake batter sticking to the pan. You can also grease your pan with butter or margarine.
This pancakes with Pepper and Onions explains itself. It’s when pepper and onion are added to the pancake batter and they add super taste and flavor in pancakes.
In fact,pepper and onions takes the pancake to almost 100%.
Without too much talk,let me walk you through the Ingredients and procedure to make this goodness because you will be glad you came across this pancake recipe.
To make Pancakes with Pepper and Onions

Ingredients
- 500g/4 cups of flour
- 5 tablespoons
- 3 tablespoons Powdered milk
- 2 medium eggs
- 1 medium onion
- 1 teaspoon Baking powder
- Pepper to taste
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Little or to taste Shredded fluted pumpkin leaves
- 1000ml room temperature water
- Margarine to grease the pan
Procedure
- Get a clean bowl
- Put powdered milk
- Add sugar
- Put eggs
- Chopped onions
- Fresh pepper
- Put salt and combine
- Add water and mix well till combined
- Sift the flour in bits,and mix well at each addition.
- Sift in the baking powder with the last batch of flour.
- Mix until you get a lump-free pancake batter.
- Add shredded fluted pumpkin also known as ugu leaves and combine.
- Add vegetable oil and combine
- Heat up your pan and grease with margarine
- Gently scoop in the pancake batter,leave the top to set and flip over to the other side
- Make sure both sides are well cook.
- Repeat the same process until you exhaust your pancake batter.
- Don’t forget to shallow fry in low medium heat.
- Once you’re done,serve with tea, coffee, fruit juice or anything that works well with you.
